For me, every medical narration starts with solid research and thorough preparation. Having spent several years working alongside a trauma & orthopedic surgeon, running their medico-legal practice, I’ve become highly familiar with medical terminology, drug names, and a wide range of surgical procedures. Without planning to, I’ve built a great foundation of medical knowledge, one that now serves me well in the voiceover booth.

There’s a common misconception that medical voiceover is just about rattling off devilishly long, hard-to-pronounce words. In reality, it covers a huge range of topics and audiences, from healthcare professionals to patients and their families.

For example, explaining a medical procedure to nervous parents in a hospital video requires a very different approach from guiding a group of surgeons-in-training through the same procedure. The style, tone, and pacing may change, but the goal remains the same: to communicate clearly and confidently. With years of experience as a British female medical narrator, I know how to strike the right balance.
